The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. Through short-term visits to the United States, current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts. Professional meetings reflect the participants’ professional interests and support the foreign policy goals of the United States.

International Visitors Learn About the American Culture and Businesses

While in the U.S., International Visitors typically start in Washington, D.C.. then they often:

  • Travel to three additional cities or towns that highlight the tremendous diversity of the U.S.
  • Attend professional appointments with their American counterparts
  • Learn about the U.S. system of government at the national, state and local levels
  • Visit American schools, and experience American culture and social life

Our delegation of leaders are from mainly European countries. They visited Harley on Tuesday, August 1st to meet with our teachers and students to discuss Social and Entrepreneurship for Young Leaders.

They are in the US as part of International Visitor Leadership Program, under the auspices of U.S. Department of State. Rochester Global Connections is the local host.
